Foundation Mutter und Kind

A foundation of the Helping Circle for Mother and Child

A generous legacy enabled the establishment of this foundation in 2015. This is a trust foundation under the sponsorship of the association.

The purpose of the foundation is to provide financial support to pregnant women and mothers with young children who find themselves in a social or economic crisis.

This should particularly occur through grants for

  • social participation and childcare

  • education for the mother

  • in acute distress

Purpose of the Foundation

In the course of our work, it is important for us to use support offers purposefully and responsibly. In order to ensure appropriate and proper use of funds, it is necessary that each inquiry is assessed to determine whether the conditions of need as defined by the foundation's purpose are met.
The use of the foundation's funds is decided by the foundation's board in accordance with the articles of association.

The purpose of the foundation is governed in the articles of association as follows:

"The foundation exclusively and directly pursues charitable purposes.
The purpose of the foundation is particularly realised through grants

to children

  • for social participation: music lessons, rental fees for musical instruments, sports lessons
  • for childcare costs during the mother’s education: kindergarten contributions, lunch subsidies, tutoring costs

to mothers

  • for education costs (not for further training)
  • for language courses to achieve a higher language level, when necessary for work
  • in acute distress: travel to the consulate for passport extension,
rent subsidy due to impending eviction,
bridging money due to Job Centre overload.

There is no legal entitlement to grants from the foundation’s funds. Unless specified in the articles of association, the board of the Mother and Child Foundation decides on a case-by-case basis how the purpose of the foundation is to be realised."
